Do you need an eye examination?

Even if you see clearly you may need an eye examination!

The New Zealand Association of Optometrists recommends that

everybody has their eyes examined at least once every two years.

This is because many sight threatening problems, which can be

found during an eye exam, do not cause you any visual problems

until the very end!

Recent studies have shown that regular use of computers can cause

visual problems including short sightedness, eye aches, headaches

and dry eye. Computer users should have their eyes tested yearly.

Computer Vision Syndrome

Do you have Computer Vision Syndrome?

If you spend a significant amount of time in front of a computer on a daily

basis, chances are that you suffer from symptoms caused by Computer

Vision Syndrome (CVS).

In fact it has been estimated that 80% of the workforce suffers from some

form of CVS with the result being not only personal discomfort, but a

decline in productivity!

Symptoms of CVS can include

* Headaches
* Difficulty focusing (near and far)                     * Tired achy eyes
* Burning, dry eyes                                               * Neck and shoulder pain

It is the excessive effort required by the eyes' focusing muscles when looking at a computer screen which creates fatigue and the burning, tired-eyes feeling that is so common after long hours at the computer.Only when your eyes can focus clearly and easily on the computer screen can they experience relief from the effects of Computer Vision Syndrome.

What can be done about CVS ?

If you experience discomfort when using your computer, an eye examination is the first step to solving your problem!
